● If your hat has a removable decorative tape, please remove it before starting cleaning. Use a soft brush or a semi-wet cloth to wipe the cap. Then the top and rim of the cap can usually be ironed by steam or ironing. Note that when ironing the top of the hat, the hat needs to hold the head of the hat with an object close to the shape of the hat. After the ironing is done, gently squeeze it with your hands, and then wait for the temperature of the hat to cool down, wait for the moisture to dry, and then install the decorative tape.
● If your hat has ornaments that cannot be removed, be careful not to let the steam face the ornaments for a long time to avoid deformation of the ornaments at high temperature.
● Whether you are using natural straw hats or straw hats made of synthetic materials, you should try to use a clean wet white cloth to remove dirt or dust. Do not use colored fabrics because the dye may stain the cap when you try to wipe it. If your hat is really dirty, you can also try to use a vacuum cleaner, but try to put a set of gauze on the suction port.
● For oily stains, sprinkle the stains with corn starch or talc to absorb grease. Let it sit for a few hours before brushing or vacuuming.
● To avoid sweat stains, wipe the sweat band with a clean white cloth as soon as possible after wearing. For stains around the sweat band, you can use a soft brush, such as a toothbrush soaked in cleaning fluid, and clean it on a small area, then wipe it with a white wet towel, and then dry it.
